Any LDS Leader with a Palm (or other handheld) organizer. Bishops, Stake Presidents, Clerks, Elders Quorum Presidents, Relief Society Presidents, High Priest Group Leaders, Young Men Presidents, Ward Members, you get the idea... Any member who may want a Ward or Stake list on their Palm.
MIS2PALM is a Windows (Win32) application that processes MIS data into a form that the Palm address book can import.
MIS stands for Membership Information System. The LDS Church uses this program in their local Wards to track the members and pertinent information about them.
LDS is a shorthand term for Latter-day Saints. Typically it is used to refer to The Church of Jesus Christ or Latter-day Saints. Also known as, the Mormons. You can learn more about the LDS Church by clicking here.
That depends on which options you select. MIS2PALM can put every member, grouped by families, into the address book. The amount of information included is quite flexible. You can include name, address, phone number, birth date, age, sex, priesthood code, current callings, home teaching assignments, etc. If there is something you want but it is not currently included, let me know and I'll see what I can do.
MIS2PALM is free! There's no charge! Just enjoy it and let me know what you think.
You can download MIS2PALM v3 here!
You can still download the old command-line version (MIS2PALM version 2) here.
Yes, Yes, YES! MIS2PALM version 3.1 has a feature to make records all one line. Turn it on and you now have a CSV file that can be imported into the Franklin/Ascend software.
I hate that too. In order to do it 'right', I'd have to write a Palm Desktop Conduit. <Yuck!> Yes, I'm lazy. Until I do that, or some else does that, you'll have to delete all previously imported MIS records before importing the new data. Of course, if you use the file link option that won't be an issue. You decide.
Yes but I do not have instructions for each PDA. In general, the Windows CE (Pocket PC) PDAs use Outlook. You can import MIS2PALM.CSV through Outlook's address book. For Outlook instructions, click here. Usually you want to look for an import feature of some sort. If you have documented how to import into your PDA, send it on to me and I'll post it up here. Thanks!
