Note: Extra Magic Hours are only available to guests of Disney World
hotels.
Extra Magic hours are when a park opens one hour early in the
morning or stays open three extra hours in the evening. Different
parks have extra hours in the mornings or evenings on different days of
the week. Check the WDW web site for the latest schedule and
details.
Extra Magic Mornings are when a park opens one hour earlier than the
posted time and they only allow Disney World guests into the
park. On the surface that sounds great! However, there are
thousands of other guests trying to take advantage of the same early
entry. We have found Extra Magic Mornings to be very
crowded.
Our recommendation: AVOID parks when they have extra magic mornings.
Extra Magic Evenings is when a park stays open three extra hours
after the posted closing time. Approximately two hours before
park closing, there will be distribution points setup for
wristbands. Cast members can direct to these distribution points.
You need to show-up to one of these distribution points and show your
WDW room key and they will give you a wristband. The wristband
allows you access to the attractions still open. Non-WDW guest
may stay in the park in the evening, they just can ride anything.
Note: If you are not a WDW guest, you must already be in the park
before the posted closing time. If you are a WDW guest you can
enter the park anytime through the extra hours.
Our recommendations: They can be good for shorter lines during the
second and third hour of the extra hours.
Keep in mind only selected attractions are open. It is not the
whole park. Check the Extra Magic information available to see
what will be open and if it is worth it to you.
