Packing
- Extra shoes -- Your feet will be so much happier when they are
dry (no wets shoes) and when they can have a break from the shoes from
yesterday. If shoes
get wet, you need to let them dry out completely before using them
again. Have at least two pairs of shoes so one pair can be drying
while wearing the other pair.
- Extra socks -- This is another thing that can help keep your feet
happy. You might consider changing socks mid-day so your feet are
dry and comfortable.
- Sunscreen -- Do not forget to use sunscreen. A sunburned
person is a grumpy person.
- Ponchos -- It will save
a lot of time and money if you carry a cheap poncho with you.
They don't take up much space and you will be able to continue from
ride to ride.
- Duct tape -- A great remedy for blisters on your feet is to cover
the area with a patch of duct tape. This works especially well if
you catch it before the hot spot blisters. Moleskin works great
too but everyone has duct tape on hand.
Flying
- Visit Seatguru for
information on your flight. Seatguru shows you the layout of the
plane and which seats are better than others. It is a great
resource.
Airport
- The closest airport to Disneyland is the John Wayne / Orange
County airport (code: SNA).
- The airport is only 15 minutes from Disneyland.
- Other airports include the Ontario airport (ONT), Long Beach airport (LGB), and Los Angeles
airport (LAX).
Hotels
- We love staying across the street from the walk-in entrance to
Disneyland. Some of the benefits include: You don't have to
pay for parking at Disneyland ($10 / day). You can walk back to
your hotel and back into the park any time.
- For finding a hotel we always go here
This site shows where each hotel is relative to the park and has a link
to their web pages.
- We have stayed in the Park Vue Inn, Desert Inn & Suites, Del
Sol Inn, and others. Currently our favorites are Park Vue and
Desert Inn.
Shuttle
- We used SuperShuttle. Our cost (in Sept 2007) was $8 per
person per way. That was only $32 round trip for the two of
us! We found a $2 off coupon through MouseSavers.com.
SuperShuttle was fast, easy, and convenient.
Daily Schedule
- You can run yourself into the ground while visiting
Disneyland. This is especially true for children. You need
to
pace yourself while you are there.
- Try to arrive at the parks in the morning when they are opening.
- Plan on taking a break in the afternoon. It is best, if
your hotel is close by, to return to your air conditioned
hotel room and take a nap and/or eat lunch.
- Return to the parks in the evening when the crowds are getting
lighter and the day is getting cooler.
- Try to get to bed at a reasonable time so you can get a good
start the next morning.
